Akrodyn, a Zurich-based startup founded in 2020, specializes in product development in electrical engineering
and embedded firmware. The company focuses on R&D in the medical, health, and fitness sectors, with
custom-made ultra-high dynamics motor control technology as its core offering. This technology is applied
across various industries, such as the fitness sector, where it enables the simulation of weight stacks using
electric motors, or in mobile robotics. The journey began in 2016 at ETH University Zurich, Switzerland, where
founders Sebastian Tschabold, Björn Joos, and Varin Buff, then students, envisioned bringing high-performance
motor control technology into everyday consumer products.
