Building Careers.
Driving Change.
Maria Guadalupe Lopez Ortiz
Supply Chain Leader, Weller Tools,
Querétaro, Mexico
Started at Apex Tool Group: March 2011
“Working across multiple departments over the past
years has been the most defining part of my journey
at Apex Tool Group. I started as a production operator and soon moved into quality inspection – where I
discovered my passion for the industry and decided
to change my career path from teaching to industrial
engineering. Each step brought new challenges, but
also new motivation to grow.
From testing equipment to managing production
planning and later leading a team of 120 operators,
I gained insights into every corner of the business.
Today, as Supply Chain Leader, I manage everything
from raw material availability to customer service and
production flow. It’s fast-paced and complex, but it’s
also what drives me.
Audrey Root-Muskee
Senior Supply Chain Manager EMEA
Based in Emmen, The Netherlands
Started at Apex Tool Group: November 1998
“I joined Apex Tool Group over 25 years ago with
a clear goal: to contribute to an international
company that values operational excellence and
customer focus. Weller’s reputation for innovation and
continuous improvement really inspired me – and
working globally from Emmen has been a perfect fit.
A defining part of my career has been leading supply
chain projects across EMEA, where I’ve connected
internal/external logistics, customs, customer service,
compliance and warehousing into smooth, efficient
processes. While I don’t work on the production floor,
I use tools like data, systems and collaboration to drive
performance and transparency.
I’ve worked with Weller tools on the shop floor and
now work with SAP to keep our operations running
smoothly. That experience, both hands-on and
strategic, helps me see the bigger picture.
Being in a technical field, I’ve had to challenge traditional mindsets and prove myself. But I’ve also had
great mentors who believed in me and helped me step
up – even when I doubted myself. At Weller, people
are valued for what they contribute, regardless of their
role or background.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come here and excited about
what’s next. To young women considering a career
in this field: find what drives you, and never stop
learning. You are absolutely capable of achieving it.”
Early on, I had to prove that leadership has nothing
to do with gender. Over time, I built confidence,
strong networks, and a passion for helping others
grow. What I value most at Weller is the trust, flexibility, and openness to diverse perspectives. Women
here are encouraged to lead and make an impact.
Looking ahead, I want to keep driving digital and
sustainable improvements – and support the next
generation of leaders. To young women I say: step in,
speak up, and believe in the difference you can make.
