Maria Julia Fogas-Morvai
Administrator/Customer Service –
Weller Repair Center, Hungary
Started at Apex Tool Group: June 2021
“My journey at Weller began when a former colleague
from my years in the service sector told me about the
role. I had moved into another field by then, but the
opportunity sparked both curiosity and a sense of
nostalgia. I’ve always enjoyed working in an industrial
environment, especially in a service department,
because every product that comes in has its own
story. With Weller, that’s multiplied – the tools are used
in such a wide range of industries as well as by individual users, and each one carries its own history.
At Weller, I’ve never felt treated differently as a
woman. People are recognized for their skills and
ideas, and many talented women hold leadership
positions here. That’s inspiring and shows that
gender is not a barrier to growth. I’m proud of the
moments when I’ve overcome logistical or technical
challenges and turned them into positive customer
experiences. Optimizing processes and supporting
my colleagues – whether through advice or training
materials – are equally rewarding.
I joined as part of a newly formed team at the Weller
Repair Center in Hungary, which meant I could help
shape local processes from the ground up. My role is
officially administration, but in practice it’s a mix of
procurement, customer service, logistics coordination,
and customs work – no two days are ever the same.
Different products arrive constantly, we work with
various partners, and I interact with multiple international departments. That variety keeps me engaged
and always learning.
From my colleagues and managers, I can learn a lot,
both in terms of processes and products, as well as
from a technical perspective. I am surrounded by
people I can turn to with confidence if I get stuck on
an issue. From my colleagues I’ve learned to navigate
exploded diagrams and dig through BOM lists for the
right part. Going forward, I want to deepen my SAP
expertise and learn more languages so I can connect
even better with customers.
To young women thinking about a career in this field:
once you find what truly interests you, stick with it.
Today, there are more opportunities than ever – and
if you encounter obstacles, don’t be afraid to change
direction and keep moving forward.”
